Committees & Liasons

The Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce enjoys the support of many important committees that help carry out the programs and services we provide to our members and the greater Concord business community. Our committees are made up of fellow chamber members who volunteer their time and efforts to make this organization stronger. If you’re interested in participating on a committee, please contact either the committee chair or the staff liaison.

Ambassadors
The Ambassadors establishes and strengthens personal contact with new and existing Chamber members and serves as the public relations arm of the Chamber.

Meets first Wednesday of the month, 4:00pm at the Chamber

Art Concord
Art Concord is a series of collaborative events with the Chamber and various galleries in the Concord area. Help plan and promote coordinated art openings at individual galleries on the same evening and showcases the explosive art culture in the Capital region.

Business & Education Partnership
The Business and Education Partnership builds a bridge between the business community and area school systems in order to foster excellence in education and better prepare students for the workplace. The Business & Education Partnership oversees these two programs:

          Capital Area Student Leadership Committee (CASL) The CASL program will encourage high school sophomores from schools throughout the region to become active and effective participants and future leaders in their communities through exposure to the historical, cultural, environmental and civic aspects of Greater Concord.

Meets third Wednesday of the month, 7:30am at the Chamber

          Business Grants Program
Each year, teachers from throughout the region are encouraged to submit grant proposals (up to $1,000) for innovative programs not covered by school budgets. Grants are evaluated and measured in terms of their effectiveness in better preparing students for entering the workplace.

Concord Young Professionals Network (CYPN). CYPN is a professional and personal development initiative designed to offer networking, community involvement and social opportunities for young professionals who live or work in the Concord area. The CYPN Enrichment Series offers quarterly events on a variety of topics related to professional development, cultural interests and recreation in the region. www.concordypn.org

Monthly networking event, third Wednesday of the month. Quarterly Enrichment Series, locations vary.

Creative Concord
An initiative that includes arts, business and community leaders to study and measure the creative economy in our region and facilitate the creation of a long range strategic plan and overall strategies for building and maximizing the creative capital of the Greater Concord region.
Chair: Byron Champlin, Lincoln Financial Group

Finance Committee
The committee reviews the Chamber's financial position monthly and often recommends additional revenue sources.

Golf Committee
Help plan and run the Annual Funds for Education Golf Tournament held each year at Beaver Meadow Golf Course.

Meets last Monday of the month, 12 Noon at the Chamber

Leadership Greater Concord
This program fosters civic pride and awareness in Greater Concord and promotes the development of those who will assume leadership roles in the community.

Steering Committee meets second Wednesday of the month, 8:00am at the Chamber

Local Government Affairs Committee
This committee reviews and monitors information that affects businesses from a local perspective. The committee informs Chamber members as key public issues arrise.

Meets second Friday of the month, 12 noon, locations vary

State Government Affairs Committee
This committee defines and formulates positions on public issues, executes the Chamber’s agenda and provide information to members on business issues at the state level. The committee reports back to our members.
