A revitalized downtown Concord is brimming with historic buildings and statuary, and offers a variety of specialty shops, cafés, and restaurants, and unique alleys, squares and side streets that are also fun to explore. Handmade clocks, gourmet foods, books, music, clothing, antiques, crafts and mountain bikes are just a few examples of the variety of goods you’ll find. Our partner organization, Intown Concord, hosts a number of special shopping events throughout the year, including Market Days in July and Midnight Merriment during the holidays.
Concord is a destination for shoppers from all over the region. The Steeplegate Mall boasts more than 40 stores, including maurices, The Bon-Ton, Sears, and J.C. Penny. Nearby businesses include Walmart, the 99 Restaurant & Pub, and Newick’s. Recent arrivals in the downtown area include Marketplace New England, the new Gibson's Bookstore which also houses the True Brew Café, Dos Amigos Burritos, Eastern Bank and Celeste Oliva. Concord’s pedestrian-friendly downtown hosts numerous quaint shops, coffee houses and restaurants, such as O Steaks & Seafood, and entertainment venues such as the Capitol Center for the Arts and Red River Theatres.
