Leadership Greater Concord

The Leadership Greater Concord program fosters civic awareness in the community and participants are equipped with information they need in order to become more involved in activities that will enhance the region.

Beginning with the retreat September, a select group of people will embark on a ten-month odyssey through the inner workings of Greater Concord. Their travels will take them from its beginnings as a small town by the railroad tracks to the city it is today – and identify what’s being done to prepare for the future. Then, each month, a day-long program will focus on an aspect of life in Greater Concord: history, the arts and culture; education; livable communities and sustainability; government and politics; the criminal justice system; economic development; communications and the media; health and human services and reflections and moving forward.

The program, in its 18th year, has over 400 alumni, many of whom are serving on local town boards, non-profit boards or serving on a municipal committee. Interested candidates who have a commitment to the community and are likely to assume greater responsibility in the future are encouraged to apply. Participants that are selected will ideally include those from business, government, education, civic groups, the arts, religion and community groups.

Applications are accepted March through May of each year. Please click here to view a brochure and application.
