Capital Area Student Leadership Class of 2017 with Governor Chris Sununu.

CONCORD, NH (November 2018) - The Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce invites students with an interest in assuming leadership roles in their schools and communities to apply for Capital Area Student Leadership (CASL). High school sophomores who both reside and attend school in the Greater Concord area (see the Chamber’s website for details) are eligible to apply for New Hampshire’s only regional student leadership program. Offered annually by the Chamber for more than two decades, CASL immerses students in the historic, cultural, environmental and civic aspects of Greater Concord through field trips, hands on experiences and facilitated discussions with established community leaders.

The 2019 program application deadline is Monday, Dec. 10, 2018 at 5 p.m. A selection committee will review applications and conduct interviews of prospective participants at their schools in January. Students accepted into the program should plan to attend the CASL Student/Parent Reception on February 20, Orientation on March 4, and three specialized Program Session Days held weekly on Wednesdays in March. CASL is held in partnership with participating schools and credit is given for full attendance.

New for 2019, a fully online application process at that allows students to log-in from school or home, and save in-progress applications. Students who prefer to submit written applications can request one from their student counselor or print one from the Chamber’s website. Grades are not the most important criteria for selection - students eager to get more involved in their communities and learn in a nontraditional classroom environment are encouraged to apply.

CASL graduates join a powerful network of 675 alumni from a dozen Capital region high schools. The program is underwritten by Northeast Delta Dental.
