Concord, NH  (July 2018) – The Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce will host its 30th Annual Funds for Education Golf Tournament on Wednesday, August 1 at Beaver Meadow Golf Course in Concord. The sold-out tournament, made possible through the support of 2018 Corporate Sponsor Northway Bank, raises funds for the Chamber’s Business Grants and Capital Area Student Leadership (CASL) programs, initiatives of the Business and Education Partnership.

“Thanks to continued support from members, players and sponsors, the Greater Concord Chamber has awarded $148,000 for education grants and $80,000 to support CASL programming since the tournament launched 30 years ago,” said Tim Sink, Chamber president.

Through its Business and Education Task Force, the Chamber awards more than $5,000 business grants annually to teachers who have developed innovative teaching programs for use in Capital area schools not covered by school budgets. Grant applications are evaluated and measured in terms of their effectiveness in better preparing students for entering the workplace.

Capital Area Student Leadership (CASL) is the state’s only regional student leadership and civics program, offered annually by the Chamber for high school sophomores in the Greater Concord area. CASL encourages students to become active and effective participants and future leaders in their schools and communities through exposure to the historical, cultural, environmental and civic aspects of the Greater Concord area. More than 650 students have graduated from CASL over the last two decades.
